The central prayer gathering for the festival of Sigd in Jerusalem will take place on Thursday, 27 Cheshvan 5785 (November 28, 2024), at the Sherover Promenade near Armon Hanatziv, Jerusalem.   Prayer area opens at: 8:00 AM State ceremony: 12:30 PM Breaking of the fast and conclusion of prayers: 2:00 PM   On the day of the gathering, a special transportation system will operate from the bus stops along Shazar Street, adjacent to Binyanei Hauma. Due to the Swords of Iron War and the Home Front Command guidelines, we will not be able to host the annual mass Sigd prayer event this year. The prayers at the Armon Hanatziv Promenade will be attended by the honorable Kessim only from 9:30 to 13:00 and will be broadcasted to the public on the website, Facebook, and the YouTube channel of the Ethiopian Jewry Heritage Center. The blessings ceremony will not be held.   Presented by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ethiopian Jewry Heritage Center – a statutory organization, the Kessim – spiritual leadership, and the State Ceremonies and Events Administration.

The central prayer assembly in Jerusalem in honor of the Sigd holiday will take place on Wednesday, November 23  2022, from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM, at the Sherover Promenade in Armon Hanatziv, Jerusalem. On the day of the prayer assembly, a special line of shuttles will operate from the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem, opposite Binyanei HaUma, to the location of the assembly.
